Hello everyone, here is an update on what's been going on at UPhoto in the last little while.

1. Last Days to Order Cards from the UPhoto Store

Time is running out to get those holiday cards out to friends and family... Check out the holiday selection in the UPhoto Store. We can help you customize text (such as 'Happy Holidays' or 'Season's Greetings' for your card as well. Just give Corey a call at 607-255-1877 or email him at cjc85.

2. New UPhoto Services - Image Hosting & Electronic Delivery

a. Image Hosting - Does your department or unit have an image collection that you would like to be able to access online? UPhoto now has the ability to set up private, password-protected user accounts on our Image Portal system where you can have access to both the images you use/order from UPhoto, as well as your departmental image collections. For details, contact Corey at 607-255-1877 or cjc85.

b. Electronic Delivery - Would you rather access the images you order from UPhoto online via download than receive them on a CD? We now have the ability to deliver orders (including hi-res images) electronically via our Image Portal system. Have access to all your UPhoto orders 24/7, and simply re-download them if they become lost or modified. For details, contact Corey at 607-255-1877 or cjc85.

3. Image Library Category Tree

I have received a number of requests for a diagram outlining the category structure for the Image Library. The complete category tree can now be viewed online and downloaded on the category tree page of our site. It can also be downloaded as a PDF from the same location.

4. Number of Lightboxes Increased

We have increased the total number of lightboxes a user can have on the Image Library to 45. If any of you have had trouble creating new lightboxes because you had more than 10, this should now be remedied.

5. Zoom & Caption Now Available in Lightboxes

Lightboxes in Image Library now have caption information displayed under them, and the image zoom function is now enabled for the lightbox as well. You will now have the same functions available in the lightboxes as you have when browsing and searching images.

6. Change for Adding Items to the Lightbox

Before, when selecting items and adding them to a lightbox, the site would take you to the lightbox page after making your selection, from which you would have to use your browser's back button to return to your search or browse results. We have now changed that function so that when adding items to the lightbox, you receive a popup notification that the items you selected have been added to the lightbox. You can simply close the popup and remain on your search results page without having to go back. This should make your use of the site much more efficient.

7. The Year in Photos

Watch for many of Jason's, Lindsay's and Robert's shots in the photographic year-in-review to be printed in this Friday's edition of the Cornell Chronicle, and posted on Chronicle Online before the holidays.

As always, suggestions and feedback are always welcome.
