Reaching new audiences through new media

One of the newer units within University Communications, Multimedia Development and Production fills a vital niche in Cornell's communications efforts by providing faculty members and administrators the means to communicate with specific audiences as well as larger sections of the public. The office also provides consultation on effective communications strategies and assistance with media placement.

Cornell Multimedia Development and Production complements and gives support to a number of university ofices, including Press Relations and most of the other University Communications units, CIT, and Cornell Educational Television.

This office is the Cornell community's first point of contact for projects involving radio, TV, podcasting, or vodcasting. It is responsible for organizing the university's approach to radio and television programming, with the aim of creating greater awareness of Cornell's research and service projects through electronic dissemination and broadcasting. Ongoing initiatives include creating a studio on campus where Cornell experts can link with television and radio stations or other media organizations for live and recorded interviews.
